William L. West | Lawyer, 81

William L. West, 81, a real estate, trusts and estates lawyer from Huntingdon Valley, died of a stroke Wednesday at Abington Memorial Hospital. Born in Akron, Ohio, Mr. West moved to Philadelphia with his family in 1941. He attended Overbrook High School, and in 1947 graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania as the first in the his class.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1951. Mr. West was a solo practitioner for 51 years, first in Philadelphia and then in Jenkintown. He was a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Philmont Country Club and Congregation Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park. His hobby was collecting Sean Connery memorabilia.
