Sports in Brief: Salary cases for 15 NHL players

Center Brooks Laich and defenseman Shaone Morrisonn of the Washington Capitals were among 15 players who decided to take their teams to salary arbitration, the NHL Players' Association said yesterday. The only other club with two players taking that route was Minnesota, which will have hearings with forwards Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Stephane Veilleux .
