Sideshow: 'Dark Knight' is tops again

The Dark Knight  continues to obliterate box-office records, grossing $75.6 million in its second weekend in theaters, and crossing the $300 million mark in just 10 days, according to the Associated Press. It beat two new films - the  Will Ferrell  comedy  Step Brothers , which placed second with $30 million, and  The X-Files: I Want to Believe , fourth with $10.2 million.

The sequel to  Batman Begins  has made more than $314.2 million since its July 18 debut - faster than any other film, according to box-office tracker Media By Numbers. That surpasses the record set in 2006 by  Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest , which took 16 days to make $300 million.
