NORFOLK, Va. - Starting righthander Kris Benson, signed to a minor-league contract by the Phillies in the off-season, allowed five hits and an earned run in seven innings yesterday for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in an International League game against Norfolk. Benson, who is coming off shoulder surgery that caused him to miss last season, did not get the decision in Lehigh Valley's 2-1 loss to the Tides.
