Jacob B. Petrosky, 83, a Philadelphia securities executive for more than 50 years, died of prostate cancer Wednesday at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He lived in Haverford. At his retirement in 2003, he was senior vice president of investments for Prudential Securities. A 1943 graduate of Overbrook High School, he was a 1950 graduate of the Drexel Institute of Technology with a degree in commerce.

He was an Army medical technician during World War II, landed in Normandy shortly after the D-Day invasion, and served in operations across France and Germany, including the Battle of the Bulge. In 1950, Mr. Petrosky began his stock brokerage career with H.M. Byllesby & Co. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1951, and in 1962 was hired by Prudential Securities. Mr. Petrosky was a member of the...
