Connecticut coach Randy Edsall didn't want to talk about it. Temple coach Al Golden downplayed it. With the teams set to meet Saturday at Lincoln Financial field, the subject was the controversial ending of the Temple-Connecticut contest last season, which resulted in a 22-17 defeat for the visiting Owls.
That day, Temple apparently scored the winning touchdown when wide receiver Bruce Francis caught a tipped pass in the back of the end zone with just seconds left. But Francis was ruled out-of-bounds on the fourth-down, 11-yard flea-flicker, and the decision was upheld after an official review.
