Baseball Notes: Boston's Dice-K to skip his next start

Boston Red Sox righthander Daisuke Matsuzaka will skip his next turn in the rotation Thursday because of weakness in his right shoulder.

Manager Terry Francona said last night that an MRI exam showed no structural damage, though there was a weakness.

Matsuzaka, the World Baseball Classic MVP, is 1-5 with an 8.23 ERA.

Chavez sidelined.  Seattle Mariners outfielder Endy Chavez is done for the season after an exam revealed a serious right-knee injury suffered Friday night in a collision with shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt.
