These sports cars, convertibles not too sexy for the car show

DETROIT -- While the North American International Auto Show this year is mostly full of sensible cars and familiar pickups and sport-utility vehicles, it also has sexy sports cars and convertibles. The show is open to the public through Jan. 19.

BMW 6 Series: BMW hasn't had a 6 Series coupe to sell since 1989. But that ends when both the coupe and convertible versions of an all-new 6 Series go on sale in spring. The 645 Ci has a 4.4-liter V-8 that gets 325 horsepower through any of three transmissions: a six-speed manual, a six-speed Steptronic automatic or a six-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox. The car hits 60 mph in roughly 6 seconds on its way to a top autobahn speed of 155 mph. A DVD navigation system comes standard.
