Golf watchers weigh in on Love affair

Ian O'Connor's column displays the disrespect that continues to plague the game of golf ("Tough Love? No, just a frustrated bully undoing strides golf had made," March 2).
It is obvious to me that Ian does not appreciate the history of the game and has no business commenting on it given that Davis Love III is one of the few role models. Davis exudes a traditional life with conservative values. (He) has a deep respect for his family, friends, life and golf.
The problem with the sport is the lack of respect that folks have for the game and the migration of behavior from NFL and NBA venues. The fighting and vulgar language used by the fans at NFL and NBA games make it so that you can't bring small children.
Golf is different. Golf, like life, demands character...
