Sons, brothers of NBA players have edge with firsthand lessons

RICHMOND, Va. -- A major portion of the NBA Players Top 100 High School Camp teaches kids how to handle situations that may come their way in college or in the professional ranks.

But there were a number of players at the camp who have been learning those very lessons from a young age because they have bloodlines to the NBA.

Eight players at the camp, which started June21 and ended Monday, have fathers who played in the NBA: Stephen Curry, Gerald Henderson Jr., Matthew Pressey, Antron Pippen, Jeremiah Rivers, Ralph Sampson Jr. and Nolan Smith.

Edward Davis and Jahaziel Howard both have brothers currently playing in the NBA: Ricky Davis of the Boston Celtics and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.

These high school players have an advantage in many ways over their peers.
