Stern stern on player dress code: Comply or leave

NEW YORK -- NBA Commissioner David Stern has a warning for players who won't comply with his new dress-for-success policy: Take your ball and go home.

Addressing critics such as Philadelphia 76ers superstar Allen Iverson, who markets his own signature shoe and fashion line through Reebok, Stern said the league would strictly enforce the business casual dress code starting Nov.1, when the NBA season opens.

"I don't think there will be a problem unless somebody wants to make a problem," he told reporters at a conference sponsored by Street & Smith Sports Group. "If they really want to make a problem, they're going to have to make a decision about how they want to spend their adult life in terms of playing in the NBA or not."
