Bad business plan grounds airline
As an employee for one of Independence Air's competitors, I can't say I will miss the airline. Although I feel bad for its employees, the airline has no one to blame for its demise but its irresponsible management ("Independence quits flying Thursday," Money, Tuesday).
Why would any good business person start a company and not charge, at least, what it takes to make the product? Not to mention, to make a profit? Anybody with any good business sense does not start a low-fare airline with high costs.
While Independence Air struggled with a business plan that everyone knew would not work, its ridiculous low fares nearly succeeded in bringing an already-struggling industry right down with it. Totally irresponsible.
