Trans-Pacific route: Australia's government is considering a request from Singapore Airlines to fly to the USA from Sydney, Australia. A decision is expected today. Currently, only United Airlines and Qantas provide service on the route.
From Canada: On March 1, Air Canada begins daily non-stop flights from Calgary to New York. Air Canada will use 93-seat Embraer E190 aircraft. On May 1, the airline launches daily non-stop service from Edmonton to Los Angeles. To Russia: In March, Austrian Airlines begins service from Vienna to Yekaterinburg, Russia.
