Bonds struck by ball, hitless in Giants' 2-0 win

MILWAUKEE -- If Barry Bonds has a headache this morning, it has nothing to do with a home run celebration in Commissioner Bud Selig's hometown.

The San Francisco Giants slugger, opening a two-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers, was conked in the head by a ball during batting practice, then went 0-for-4 in the Giants' 2-0 victory behind the five-hit pitching of Jason Schmidt (2-2).

Bonds, who is two home runs away from tying Babe Ruth's career mark of 714, failed to hit the ball hard in any of his four at-bats against Milwaukee right-hander Dave Bush, whom he had never faced before, and reliever Jorge De La Rosa.

"The game plan was to go right after him," Brewers manager Ned Yost said.

The crowd of 17,358 peppered Bonds with boos in each at-bat...
