Grimsley case spurs uneasiness, resentment among players

PHOENIX -- There was no evidence Wednesday that veteran reliever Jason Grimsley had even been a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He never showed up at Chase Field. His locker was barren. Some teammates refused to even talk about him.
Grimsley was praised by teammate Terry Mulholland and others for seeking his release, sparing the D'backs from further distractions a day after federal investigators raided his home, but his name will be forever linked to steroids.
"Now there's another scar on this game, something else for the fans to be yelling at us about," Arizona outfielder Luis Gonzalez said. "Now everything is overshadowed by this."
