Michael Dell believes his company's problem is bureaucracy?
Yikes. That's like Iraq thinking its problem is a lack of tourists.
Last week, Michael reclaimed the CEO title at the personal computer company he founded, Dell. (To everyone at Dell, Michael is known just by his first name, in the manner of Cher or Prince.) The board fired the previous CEO, Michael's good friend Kevin Rollins. Dell's performance the past year under Rollins has been, as highly technical Wall Street traders might say, "stinky."
So on Friday, Michael sent an e-mail to all Dell employees to say how he's going to fix the company. It's a pretty long e-mail -- about three screens -- and it says a lot of non-specific stuff about making snazzier products and cutting costs. Most...
