Babies, boomers join circle

Think teens and twentysomethings hog all the online attention? Time to shove the teenyboppers aside: It's Grandma and grandkids -- some too young to read -- who are forging the newest interactive social networks in cyberspace.

From ClubPenguin.com and Webkinz.com for the little ones to Winster.com and Eons.com for the oldsters, the Internet isn't just for the hormonal and hard-bodied anymore.

Despite the undisputed success of such sites as MySpace, Facebook and newcomer Bebo with teens and collegians, neither oldsters nor kiddies are much interested in hanging out with that crowd, for different reasons: Grown-ups aren't into the unblushing revelations typical of social-networking profiles, and children haven't lived long enough to have anything to blush about. Besides, their parents still control the computer.

But tykes can be naturals with a mouse: ClubPenguin, for instance, launched in October 2005 and had 4million ...
