Spencer Tracy had been ailing throughout the 1960s and had to be replaced by Edward G. Robinson in John Ford's Cheyenne Autumn. Robinson stepped in again in this cautionary tale about a poker pro's life on the road. The movie turned out fairly well, although Tracy opposite Steve McQueen would have been something. And director Sam Peckinpah was fired and replaced by Norman Jewison.
