Kidman's New York minute

Nicole Kidman, whose home base is Nashville when she's not on a movie set, spent a whirlwind weekend in the Big Apple:

*Friday afternoon. Kidman, wearing white, arrives at the Reade Theater for a screening of Margot at the Wedding, at the 45th New York Film Festival. She says playing a moody character was "frightening," Newsday reports. "But when something is well written, all you have to do is put yourself in the director's world."

*Friday night. Kidman turns formal in a sleek black gown by pal L'Wren Scott as she and husband Keith Urban, in a tuxedo suit and tie, attend the gala for New Line Cinema's 40th anniversary.
