Red Sox close the deal

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox, who three years ago shed their 86-year jinx with a World Series title, were only too happy Sunday to add yet another chapter to the Cleveland Indians' curse.
The Red Sox slammed the Indians 11-2 in Game7 of the American League Championship Series, and will meet the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night to open the World Series at Fenway Park. The Indians, for the 59th consecutive autumn, will be without a World Series title.
Cleveland, haunted in its sports history by John Elway's drive, Michael Jordan's shot and Earnest Byner's fumble, may be spending the winter talking about third-base coach Joel Skinner's stop.
The Indians, trailing 3-0 by the third inning, appeared poised to tie the game in the sixth.
