Ray Allen penetrated toward the basket and as the offense collapsed on him, he passed the ball out to an open Paul Pierce. But Kevin Garnett was more open and closer to the basket, so Pierce swung the ball to Garnett -- who made the 15-footer.
It was a meaningless preseason game and not a spectacular play, but Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers had a broad smile on his face. He admitted later saying to himself, "This is really going to work. It really is."
The trio of stars, who all have career averages of more than 20 points, seem to have answered the question during the preseason of whether they can play together.
