Daylight time laws are for sleepyheads

Mornings have been especially miserable the past few weeks for us get-up-and-go types. Dark when grownups should get up. Still dark when some kids head to school.
Finally, starting Sunday we'll be rid of the foolishly extended so-called daylight saving time. Nearly eight months of artificial starts to day and night.
Daylight saving time, of course, doesn't save any daylight at all. Just shifts it from morning to evening. This year's extended DST from March to November passed Congress primarily because of lobbyists for these special interests:
*Bars and clubs that cater to night people.
*Fast food eateries and stores hoping for more late evening shopping.
Time clock tinkering started in World War I as an alleged "energy saver."...
