Fabulous ladies -- and a man or two -- shimmied down the red carpet at New York's Lincoln Center Monday night at Glamour magazine's annual Women of the Year honors. USA TODAY's Donna Freydkin asked: What's the bravest thing you've ever done?
Honoree Jennifer Garner, now on Broadway as Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac: "Professionally, it was brave (to go on stage). Yeah, definitely. I feel like, put your head down and go for it. Just do it."
Presenter Claire Danes, now starring in Pygmalion on Broadway: "It was kind of scary to go to college (at Yale). And when I did, it was pretty scary to step on stage recently as Eliza. But all things that I feared have proven to be really rewarding and worthwhile."
