Unheralded performance: The kickoff coverage unit limited Maurice Jones-Drew to 61 yards on five returns (12.2 yards a return). Jones-Drew helped the New England Patriots in the second quarter when he muffed a kickoff and fell on the ball at his 5-yard line.
Second guess: The Jacksonville Jaguars had a combined total of only 19 rushing attempts by the hard-running duo of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew.
Hot hand: Tom Brady might have completed all 28 of his passes. Instead he hit 26, setting an NFL postseason record by completing 92.9% of his attempts. Brady connected on his first 16 until an incompletion to tight end Ben Watson early in the third quarter.
