Shaken Hixon plays for more than Giants

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Who would have thought it would come to this?

Super Bowl media day, and Domenik Hixon is here, in a New York Giants uniform -- not five months after he wore another uniform in an instant so scary, the NFL stood still.

An afternoon that led to a sleepless night, when all he could do was pray.

Hixon knew the questions were coming Tuesday. He once minded, but not anymore. "I need to go ahead and talk about it," he said, "to get my feelings and emotions out."

So he looks off into the distance, surrounded by the circus of media day, and it is Sept.9, 2007, again.

He is returning the second-half kickoff for the Denver Broncos and coming in for a tackle is a Buffalo Bill whose name he knows only from a scouting...
