Google dominates search, but how do Yahoo and Microsoft fare elsewhere on the Internet? Yahoo, with 137 million visitors in December, is the most visited website, says researcher ComScore Media Metrix. Google was No. 2 with 133 million and MSN No. 3 at 120 million. USA TODAY's Jefferson Graham takes a look at e-mail, maps and more.

Q: E-mail is the first thing people check online. What's the most popular Web mail?

A: Yahoo. It's the e-mail leader, with 35% market share, according to researcher Nielsen/NetRatings. AOL e-mail is No. 2 with 31%, followed by Microsoft's Windows Live Hotmail at 15.7%, and Google's Gmail is last with 5.5%.

Q: What about instant messaging?

A: MSN Messenger (also known as Live Messenger) is tops worldwide, but in the USA, AOL's AIM is first, followed by Yahoo. Unlike AIM, whose ...
