In baseball parlance, pitching superstar Roger Clemens exited a Capitol Hill hearing Wednesday with a "no decision" but amid new questions about allegations he used performance-enhancing drugs.
The controversy over allegations Clemens used steroids and human growth hormone (HGH) remained unsettled after a tense, 4 1/2-hour hearing before a House committee in which the pitcher and his accuser -- former personal trainer Brian McNamee -- each were subjected to sharp questioning, and even ridiculed, about their credibility.
In the end, several lawmakers said it was clear either Clemens or McNamee was lying under oath, and the FBI acknowledged it was examining the case to determine whether perjury or other federal charges were warranted.
