Student, shot in head, ran back for girlfriend

CHICAGO -- Jim Donohue rarely goes to church, but he was there Sunday. After surviving the shooting rampage at Northern Illinois University, he says, "I figure there's someone looking out for me," and he wanted to say thanks.
Donohue, 19, was shot in the back of his head and left shoulder by gunman Steven Kazmierczak as he fled his geology class in Cole Hall on Thursday. About 20 shotgun pellets are lodged in his body, and he'll have surgery in a few weeks to remove them. He was treated and released from a DeKalb, Ill., hospital and is recovering at home in Rolling Meadows, a Chicago suburb.
