For more than half a century, Pete Seeger has been an icon's icon, a source of inspiration to rock stars and socially conscious artists of all stripes. But don't try to tell him that.

"I'm 88 years old, losing my sight and my hearing," Seeger says. Later he adds, "I've made all sorts of mistakes and done all sorts of foolish things in my life."
