Clemens' legal issues increase

WASHINGTON -- Roger Clemens' crusade to clear his name officially put the seven-time Cy Young Award winner in legal jeopardy Wednesday.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform asked the Justice Department to investigate whether Clemens lied when he testified this month that he never used performance-enhancing drugs.
"We didn't think Roger Clemens was telling the truth," said committee chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif. "We feel it's important for (the Justice Department) to take a special look at this (and) see if any laws were violated. It's going to be up to them" whether Clemens will be prosecuted.
