Pontiac G8 GXP
*What: Full-size, 4-door, rear-drive sedan.
*Pedigree: A U.S. version of a model built and sold in Australia as the Commodore by General Motors' Holden unit.
*Personality: Has the size and feel of a big and powerful American family car with ample interior and trunk space.
*When: This fall.
*Why: Adds a high-performance version to the two zippy G8 V-6 and V-8 models that went on sale this month. Pontiac, with its lineup of cars, is GM's designated performance division.
*Marquee feature: 6.2-liter V-8 rated at 402 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Pontiac says that should be good for 4.7-second 0 to 60 times and 13-second quarter-mile bursts.
*How much: Not set, but north...
