Taking one for 'Toppers nothing new for Rogers

PHOENIX -- With Western Kentucky's season in jeopardy of suddenly being over, Hilltoppers coach Darrin Horn would have been happy for any of his players to hit a game-winning shot.

That it happened to come from Ty Rogers, well, that was just priceless.

Rogers, a rather anonymous senior guard who averages 6.5 points a game, hit a desperation 26-foot three-pointer with three defenders in his face and no time on the clock to give Western Kentucky, a No.12 seed, a 101-99 overtime upset of Drake last week in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Then the Hilltoppers beat San Diego in the second round.

And now here they are, faced off against No.1 seed UCLA in the Sweet 16 -- the biggest game of their careers, the opportunity of a lifetime.
