Hoteliers busy building on their celebrity

Since Elvis left us in 1977, admirers have been heartbroken. But soon they may find a new place to dwell -- an Elvis-themed hotel in Las Vegas.
Fans take note: Celebrity-themed or -owned lodgings are popping up all over the globe.
*FX Real Estate and Entertainment, which acquired a major interest in the Presley business empire, just announced plans to build an Elvis-themed casino hotel on the Vegas Strip. It all depends on financing and other business issues, but construction, FX says, might start in 2009. Details -- will there be performances by jumpsuited impersonators? -- are yet to be announced.
*Actor Robert De Niro is a co-owner of The Greenwich Hotel, which opened Tuesday in the TriBeCa neighborhood in lower Manhattan. Its 88 rooms and suites are individually decorated. They boast hardwood floors, Tibetan rugs, and bathrooms with Moroccan tile or Italian marble. Some suites have saunas and fireplaces. ...
