Marvel plans four brand-new films

Fresh off Iron Man's imposing performance at the box office, Marvel Studios announced four new comic-book movies Monday, including an Avengers film that will team Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor.

Kevin Feige, president of production for Marvel Studios, says he is working toward the day when crossovers are more regular.

"Heroes can cross into each other's adventures and occasionally team up if there's a foe too great for any one of them to handle," he says.

But for now, the lineup includes:

*Iron Man 2, April 30, 2010.

*Thor, based on the popular Norse warrior, June 4, 2010.

*The First Avenger: Captain America, May 6, 2011.

*The Avengers, the story of the crime-fighting team, July 2011.

Plus Ant-Man, about a biochemist who can control insects, is in development with no release date slated.

First, of course, comes The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward ...
