NBA's 'one and done' rule may have role in abuses

The head of the NCAA's enforcement division said Monday that the NBA one-and-done rule for college basketball players could be contributing to potential rules violations.
One-and-dones are athletes who play a year of college basketball before becoming instant millionaires in the NBA. They have been a force on the college scene since the NBA began mandating in 2006-07 that players be 19 and a year out of high school before entering the draft.
Allegations that potential NBA lottery pick O.J. Mayo received about $30,000 in cash and benefits before and during his lone season at Southern California have brought the issue to the forefront.
