Mayo accuser will cooperate

The attorney for the man who alleges that a runner for a sports agency gave cash and gifts to Southern California basketball star O.J. Mayo said his client will cooperate with NCAA investigators and is working on a book project that will incorporate the Mayo story.

Jeff Silberman, a Los Angeles-based entertainment lawyer, is representing Louis Johnson. In a May11 ESPN report, Johnson said Rodney Guillory, acting as a runner for BDA Sports Management, had funneled about $30,000 in cash and gifts to Mayo since his high school days.

Mayo, who left USC for the NBA draft this spring after one season, is now being represented by BDA. He and BDA have denied any wrongdoing.
