As of Wednesday morning, 4,071 U.S. servicemembers and 11 Defense Department civilians had been identified as having died in the Iraq war: 3,328 from hostile action and 754 from non-combat-related incidents.
Latest death identified:
*Army Pvt. Branden P. Haunert, 21, Cincinnati; died Sunday in Tikrit of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device; 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
