Title 103 for UCLA
0 Comments | USA TODAY, June, 2008
UCLA, which reached 100 NCAA team titles a little more than a year ago, is well on the way toward its second 100.
The men's golf team won the national championship Saturday night by a stroke, giving the Bruins three crowns in May. Earlier they won women's water polo and women's tennis. They stand at 103 team titles, the most of any NCAA school.
The golf title came with some drama. Senior All-American Kevin Chappell shot 76, including a par on the final hole, as the Bruins held off defending champion Stanford. Chappell also won the individual title, shooting 2-under-par 286 at Purdue's Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
