Despite success, Thibodeau's phone stays quiet

The work of Boston Celtics defensive guru Tom Thibodeau might be the biggest factor in their 2-1 Finals lead vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. But even with eight postseason coaching vacancies, he never received an interview.
The Chicago Bulls recently hired Vinny Del Negro, his first head coaching job at any level. True, Thibodeau was not granted permission to interview while the Celtics were engaged in their playoff run.
"I usually have a good handle on why things happen in this league," says ABC/ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy. "But not in this case. I don't know if it's because of the NBA Finals, or he doesn't have a powerful agent pushing for him.
