As of Wednesday morning, 4,092 U.S. servicemembers and 11 Defense Department civilians had been identified as having died in the Iraq war: 3,340 from hostile action and 763 from non-combat-related incidents.
Latest deaths identified:
*Army Pvt. Eugene D.M. Kanakaole, 19, Maui, Hawaii; died June 11 in Balad from wounds suffered in a non-combat-related incident; 36th Engineer Brigade.
*Army Sgt. 1st Class Gerard M. Reed, 40, Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; died June 11 in Baghdad from wounds suffered in a non-combat-related incident; 86th Combat Support Hospital.
