Rangers' Bradley feels joy of long-sought respect

BALTIMORE -- Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington interrupted Milton Bradley's morning domino game Sunday to tell the American League's starting designated hitter, batting .320, he's going to the All-Star Game.
"I never really had a father-son moment growing up," said Bradley, whose father was estranged for much of his childhood. "I can only imagine that hug from 'Wash' was what it's like. After 30 years, I finally had one. It's really special."
AL manager Terry Francona said Bradley, who led DH voting by players, will be the starter in his first All-Star Game in place of injured Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, who won fan balloting.
"A few months ago, I couldn't imagine having this day," Bradley said, fighting back tears. "I can't find the words....
