Alex Rodriguez's wife filed for divorce Monday. But if the past week is any indication, his off-field life won't affect his ability to swing a bat.
Cynthia Rodriguez's divorce petition, filed in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, claims she and their two children were "emotionally abandoned" and the marriage is "irretrievably broken because of the husband's extra-marital affairs and other marital misconduct."
Her filing came days after an Us Weekly report linked the New York Yankees third baseman to a relationship with singer Madonna; Rodriguez has declined to comment. His wife then sought refuge in Paris with rocker Lenny Kravitz. Madonna and Kravitz have denied romantic involvements.
