NEW YORK -- The greatest collection of baseball talent perhaps ever assembled stood on the field Tuesday night in a glorious tribute at the All-Star Game, with many saying their final goodbye to Yankee Stadium.
It was a night, they say, that will be remembered forever.
It began when Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra led 49 Hall of Fame players through historic Monument Park and onto the field. They slowly went to their old positions while the sellout crowd stood and roared in celebration. They were introduced, position by position, starting with 15 Hall of Fame pitchers. They soon were joined by All-Star starters Ben Sheets and Cliff Lee.
"I'm very fortunate to be part of a special day today," St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols said....
