Does policy violate privacy?

Is it a violation of privacy?
"If athletes can embarrass the university with their comments, how about just students?" says Ben Stone, executive director of the ACLU of Iowa. "This presents the beginning of what will likely be an ongoing discussion about how much control public universities have over their students."
