As NFL teams wrap up training camps and move back to regular practices, several notable veterans have yet to catch on.
Former Pro Bowlers Shaun Alexander, Daunte Culpepper and Ty Law remain unsigned.
Some have had opportunities. Safety John Lynch met with the New England Patriots on Wednesday and was on the verge of signing a deal. Culpepper visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who signed Byron Leftwich to back up Ben Roethlisberger.
A three-time Pro Bowler who started six games for the Oakland Raiders last season, Culpepper has become less discriminating about his destination.
"I initially hoped to have an opportunity to start," Culpepper said via e-mail. "I am now looking for any team that will give me an opportunity to contribute."
