As of Thursday morning, 4,131 U.S. servicemembers and 11 Defense Department civilians had been identified as having died in the Iraq war: 3,366 from hostile action and 776 from non-combat-related incidents.
Latest death identified:
*Marine Sgt. Michael H. Ferschke Jr., 22, Maryville, Tenn.; died Sunday in Salahuddin province from wounds suffered while supporting combat operations; 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force.
