The trial of four-time Iditarod champion Jeff King, accused of illegally killing a moose in Denali National Park, is set to begin today in Fairbanks, Alaska.

King, 52, is charged with taking wildlife from a national park and illegally operating a motor vehicle in a park.

Also today:

*Funeral services are planned in Little Rock for Bill Gwatney, the Arkansas Democratic Party chairman who was shot and killed in his office last week.

*Security guard Dick Heller, whose lawsuit resulted in the Supreme Court ruling that ended the handgun ban in Washington, D.C., is scheduled to pick up his gun registration.

*Swiss adventurer Louis Palmer stops at the Sears Tower in Chicago as part of his world tour in his solar-powered vehicle called...
