*Pauley Perrette's Abby risks her career tonight on NCIS (CBS, 8 ET/PT) to save a dog wrongly accused of murder. That same basic plot was used much earlier last season by a much better show, Pushing Daisies, but it's summer and NCIS is on and Daisies isn't. You want something original, watch The Summer Olympics (NBC, 8 ET/PT), though most if not all of the coverage is likely to be tape-delayed from earlier in the day.
*For those who want an Olympic break, TCM is spending the day saluting one of Hollywood's true greats: Barbara Stanwyck. The evening portion of the marathon kicks off with one of her first and most obscure films, the early talkie The Locked Door (8 ET/5 PT). It's followed by two other lesser-known Stanwyck films, The File on Thelma Jordan (9:30 ET/6:30 PT)...
