Errata - Brief Article - Correction Notice

Errors of omission and commission were discovered in Volume 59, number 5 in the monograph, Land Value Taxation Around the World, edited by Robert V. Andelson. The errors and the corrections are as follows:

p. xxii, line 3, through p. xxii, line 18: This section should begin on p. xxi after line 12.

p. xxxvi, line seventh from bottom: "adroitly instituted" should be "brazenly attempted".

p. xxxvi, fifth line from bottom: "Although efforts at reversion were roundly rejected by the electorate whenever it was permitted to register its opinion at the polls," should be "Although the ratepayers have mostly been successful in thwarting further efforts at reversion,".

p. xxxvii, line 21: "nineteenth century" should be "twentieth century".

p. xlii, notes 25 through 30: With the exception of note 26, these notes are out of order. The existing note 29 (Israel) should be note 25. The existing note 30 (Ralston) should be note 27. The existing note 25 (Keller) should be note 28. The existing note 27 (George) should be note 29. The existing note 28 (Schumpeter) should be note 30.

p. 96, note 15: This note should be renumbered 16, and a new note 15 inserted. The new note should read: "Youngman, op. cit., p. 112."

p. 195, eleventh line under VII: Superscript (5) should be (8).

p. 196, fourth line from bottom: Superscript (8) should be (9).

p. 197, line (8): Superscript (9) should be (10).

p. 198, fourth line under IX: Superscript (6) should be (11).

p. 203, note (8): This note should be renumbered (9).

p. 204, note (10): This note should be renumbered (8).

p. 310, ninth line under IV: "In" should be "It".

p. 317, fifth line Under I: After "royalties", insert "from the remaining 40 percent".

p. 333, tenth line from bottom: "Even though" should be "Even if".

p. 367, lines 14 and 15: Superscripts (3) and should be (2) and (3).

p. 401, last line: "this book" should be "the present book".

p. 427, line 17: "Finance minister" should be "local government minister".
