bed buddies

American Fitness, Nov, 1998

Most people prefer to sleep in the same bed as their partner, but many find they are sleep deprived because of their mate's annoying habits, according to a recent survey of 1,000 men and women on sleeping preferences by The Company Store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Partners complained about being awakened by the sounds of snoring, televisions, radios and talking, as well as nocturnal tossing and turning and stolen covers. Incompatibilities in thermostat settings and open windows also affected sleep.

The study found eight out of 10 people ages 25 to 49 wanted to share their beds, but only six out of 10 in the 18 to 24 age range did. Less than half of those 65 and over wanted to sleep in the same bed.
